Nashville region is nation’s "hottest" area for business expansion
For the second year in a row, the Nashville area has been selected by Expansion Management magazine as the nation’s "hottest" metro area for expansions and relocations, Forward Sumner Economic Council President and CEO Marco Oliveri announced today.
"For the last several years, our region has been showered with honors like this one that serve as continuing confirmation that our regional approach to economic development is getting results," said Oliveri, who leads Sumner County’s public/private economic development partnership and represents Sumner County on the Nashville Chamber’s Partnership 2010 economic development initiative.
"Everyone has worked diligently to make our region an attractive place for economic development. We are all excited to know that our efforts continue to pay off with high-profile rankings like this one."
Last year, in addition to ranking the Nashville area as the nation’s hottest for expansions and relocations, Expansion Management magazine designated the Nashville region as a "Five-Star Knowledge Worker Metro" to recognize the strength of the region’s college-educated work force and its attractiveness to companies seeking a highly technical work force.
The 2006 rankings appear in the January/February issue of Expansion Management magazine that comes out this month. Expansion Management magazine is mailed to more than 45,000 CEOs, vice presidents, directors and other officers of companies that have indicated they are considering expanding into new geographic areas.
